Our First Aid training courses provide the comprehensive set of practical skills needed to become a confident first aider, giving you both the ability and knowledge to respond effectively with first aid emergencies and life threatening situations in high risk environments. First aid provision is a legal requirement and suitable first aid arrangements are required for all companies no matter how big or small.
This First Aid at Work training course is designed for those who want to receive our most thorough first aid training and is especially suited for a nominated workplace first aider looking to gain comprehensive, certified HSE approval.
Course duration
Course duration is 3 days for a novice first aider and two days for a refresher (if their initial certificate hasn’t expired).
Course content
This course provides basic first aid skills and knowledge about occupational hazards in an emergency situations including adult resuscitation and aed training (CPR) due to cardiac arrest, a broad range of medical conditions, spinal injuries, burns and blisters and treating minor wounds.
Assessment and certification
After completing a final assessment successful candidates receive an HSE approved first aid work certificate valid for three years.
This course is legally compliant with the current Health and Safety (first aid) Regulations 1981. Upon successful completion of this three-day course, first aiders receive certification to allow them to practice for three years after which a re-qualification course becomes necessary. It is strongly recommended that first aider update their skills by taking an annual refresher.
